Sam J. Jones Canvas Process
Here's an animated gif of the stages involved in painting the Sam J. Jones canvas from my recent exhibition. As you can see, I plan out the composition beforehand so I know exactly where the portrait will be visible through the Ming "window".

Thanks for this! Really interesting to see how you build the painting. We love our print of Flash. Have revisited the DVD and introduced it to the grandchildren, who loved it! Currently studying Greek and Roman Mythology, and maybe Ming could be Zeus sending thunderbolts to earth, and Flash could be Prometheus...just a little bit! Afterall he is 'Flash! Saviour of the Universe'!!! :-D Nothing like a good story! (...and painting!)

Really fascinating to see the process!!! He might be able to save the Earth in less than 24 hours, but I dont think even Flash could produce a similar work of art in that time!!
