Rotherham Windows
Here's my contribution to the window display at Old Market Building, Corporation Street in Rotherham. The Stars in Stripes live art collective (of which I'm part of along with other Sheffield illustrators and artists) were asked to fill the massive window space using Posca pens and paint. Initially I was concerned about simply relying on line work when so much of my current canvas work features shade and tone to give the work form. Safe to say I enjoyed the whole experience and it was nice to work out of my comfort zone (even if it was freezing cold while working!).
I interpreted the 'escapism' brief as a chance to reference some of the iconography of computer gaming's rich history. How many can you spot?
As well as the windows, the group will have an exhibition in the space starting on the 27th of January so pop down if you're in the area.
