Amber's Nectar

If you’re out searching for a thirst quenching beverage in Sheffield this month, look no further than a pint of Amber’s Nectar. The Sheffield Steel Rollergirls have teamed up with local brewery Blue Bee to produce a special beer that will be available in a selection of free houses in Sheffield during April. I was kindly invited to join the rollergirl on their visit to help brew Amber’s Nectar and it was great to see the processes involved (as well as the complimentary beer(s)!)

New SSRG Logo In Action

It was great to see the new Sheffield Steel Rollergirls uniforms in action this past Saturday. They've had the logo printed on more sportswear-looking attire and I think it gives the whole team a real professional look. Just a shame they lost the bout!

2012 SSRG Logo

In preparation for their upcoming bout this Saturday I present the all new logo for the Sheffield Steel Rollergirls. The design started with a desire for the text to be able to exist as a standalone graphic rather than the previous integrated layout. It was also a chance to toughen up Amber a bit and make her look like she would take out your Jammer without hesitation!

Yosuke Ueno

Often while admiring other people’s creative endeavours I’m drawn to what I feel I lack in my own. So it’s to Yosuke Ueno and his creation of a unique and vibrant world that I’d like to direct your attention to. Seeming to take place in some fantasy realm of his own creation, it’s really the entire connected world seen throughout so much of his work that I really admire. So make yourself a cup of tea and take a browse, surely better than checking Facebook again!

Sheffield Window Display

As THIS video points out, Sheffield really is a “city on the move”. To continue that endeavour into more recent times, Sheffield City Council along with The Source have created a scheme in which unoccupied shop windows are used to display artwork by local artist. It’s a fantastic opportunity to display artwork in the centre of the city and one I couldn’t pass up.

It’s all just been taken down after three weeks on display and it has been a great way to get my work out there and generate some sales!

Massive thank you to everyone who helped get the display looking as good as it did!
