Wanted to share the work of a great UK artist/illustrator Stanley Chow. His vector clean style captures his portraits perfectly and his selection choice of referencing is always inspired.

With my work with the Sheffield Steel Roller Girls came the opportunity to work with another Roller Derby team, this time for Cornwall. Now my understanding of the sport is that the above logo is actually for a local league as appose to a single, all-female team, thus explaining the lack of female pin up flesh on display- so common in many of the individual team logos (and long may it continue).
The initial confusion of the request to make my design “Cornish” (my knowledge ends at Pasty) ended up with the nautical theme of a ship wheel and waves. Apparently Cornwall is on the coast, who knew!

Great launch night for the Stars In Stripes group exhibition on Thursday! It’s been a great learning experience working with so many other artists and putting on a show in a relatively short time! Massive thanks to Peter Martin for arranging the whole thing and putting in the hours to get it all ready for the launch! Much of the work for the show was previous live art work done at SOYO as well as two new prints (pictured). It was nice to see the Blade Runner, Tarkin and Evil Dead pieces again as with all the live art pieces I do, I only really get to see them on the night I create them.
So if you’re in the area the exhibition runs until the 12th February and is open Monday to Friday, 11am to 4pm at Old Market Building - Corporation St, Rotherham S60 1NG.

With the upcoming home bout of the Sheffield Steel Roller Girls I was asked to design the poster (I’d done their previous one) this time the theme being “Tarzan and Pain”. I always like the challenge provided by these posters as I often have to come up with original poses and characters. Posting this I realised I’d not posted a previous poster for a fundraiser in November – so now you can check out my version of a Pink Lady.
